Kim Gaskill has been active in fundraising, communication and strategic planning for more than 30 years. Kim started Gaskill Strategies as a one-person shop in 2004 with the goal of doing good work for good organizations.
Early and longtime clients were BRIDGES USA and LeBonheur Children’s Hospital. Over the past two decades, as the founding partner of Gaskill Strategies Kim has worked with more than 60 nonprofits and community-focused organizations, helping to raise more than $300 million. Kim is a skilled organizational strategic and creative thinker with an emphasis on planning, facilitation, communication, implementation and evaluation.
Although she’s spent more than half her career running Gaskill Strategies, she started her career at the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association where she led a successful capital campaign to raise $25 million, coordinated the creation and operation of the Starry Nights exhibit — a Top 20 Southeastern Tourism event and fundraiser — and published Memphis Parent. As vice president of marketing for the St. Louis Cardinals AAA affiliate, the Memphis Redbirds, she added sports marketing to her skill set, working to create and manage the branding of the team, the opening of AutoZone Park and the creating of the Redbirds Foundation.
She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, a graduate of New Memphis Institute’s LDI program, Leadership Memphis, a member of Mei-Ann’s Circle of Friends for the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, a founding member of Give 365 for the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis and a former board member for the Christian Community Foundation. She has received honors such as Memphis Business Journal’s Super Women in Business and Top 40 under 40 (“a few years ago,” she says!) and Memphis Women of Achievement.
All these experiences are a part of Kim’s journey to where she is now — the soul of Gaskill Strategies and the driving force behind our firm’s commitment to helping good organizations do great things.
